Custom 8-Foot Board-on-Board Cedar Fence Installation in Frisco, TX

Premium Western Red Cedar Fence Replacement in Frisco, Texas

Frisco Fence recently completed a beautiful custom privacy fence installation in Frisco, Texas, featuring 140 linear feet of 8-foot-tall pre-stained Western Red Cedar fencing with decorative trim and heavy-duty steel post construction.
This project delivered both maximum backyard privacy and upscale curb appeal while creating a durable fence system built to handle the harsh North Texas climate.

Luxury Board-on-Board Privacy Fence Design

For this Frisco fence project, the homeowner selected one of the most popular premium fence styles in North Texas: a board-on-board cedar privacy fence. Board-on-board fencing provides:

Full privacy with overlapping pickets
Reduced visibility gaps over time
Better wind resistance
A more upscale appearance
Long-term durability

Unlike traditional side-by-side fencing, board-on-board construction helps maintain privacy even as natural wood expands and contracts during changing weather conditions.

Premium Fence Materials Used

This custom cedar fence installation included:

140 linear feet
8-foot-tall privacy fencing
Pre-stained Western Red Cedar
Rich medium brown Ready Seal finish
2x8 cedar top cap
Decorative 1x2 and 1x4 trim
Heavy-duty steel posts
Double stacked kickboards
Two custom 48” gates
Black premium gate hardware

The fence was secured using galvanized screws for maximum strength and long-term structural integrity.

Steel Posts Built for Texas Soil Conditions

One of the most important upgrades on this project was the use of commercial-grade steel fence posts cemented into the ground using Maximizer concrete. In Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, and surrounding North Texas communities, expansive clay soil constantly shifts during wet and dry seasons. Steel posts help prevent:

Leaning fences
Rotting wood posts
Premature fence failure
Wind damage
Structural movement

This gives homeowners a much stronger and longer-lasting fence system compared to traditional all-wood construction.

Double Stacked Kickboards for Extra Protection

This project also included double stacked pressure-treated kickboards measuring approximately 22 inches tall.
Kickboards help protect the bottom of the fence from:

Moisture damage
Weed eater impact
Soil contact
Sprinkler overspray
Premature picket rot

They are one of the best upgrades homeowners can add to extend the lifespan of their fence.

Finished Backyard Transformation

Once completed, the rich dark cedar stain paired perfectly with the fresh landscaping and green lawn, creating a clean, luxury backyard appearance. The decorative trim, top cap, and steel-post-supported structure gave this project a polished high-end finish while maintaining full backyard privacy.
