Custom Horizontal Cedar Privacy Screens for a Luxury Pool Backyard

One of the biggest advantages of living on a large lot in Oak Point is the feeling of freedom that comes with wide-open spaces. Many homeowners in the Windsor Springs neighborhood choose black steel fencing because it preserves beautiful views, allows cooling breezes to flow through the property, and creates an open, spacious atmosphere.
However, when it comes to relaxing by the pool, complete openness is not always ideal. Sometimes you want a little privacy. That is exactly what this Windsor Springs homeowner was looking for.

Creating Privacy Without Sacrificing Style

While the existing black steel fencing provided security and maintained the property's open feel, the pool area lacked the privacy needed for comfortable outdoor living. The homeowner wanted a solution that would:

• Create privacy around the pool area
• Complement the modern architecture of the home
• Maintain the upscale appearance of the backyard
• Stand up to the North Texas climate

Our solution was a custom-built horizontal cedar privacy screen system designed specifically for this property.

Modern Horizontal Cedar Design

For this project, our team constructed multiple custom horizontal cedar privacy screens featuring a sleek waterfall top cap design. The horizontal layout delivers clean architectural lines that immediately create a modern, high-end appearance. The waterfall cap adds a finished furniture-grade look while protecting the top of the structure from weather exposure. The result is where modern design meets practical outdoor living. These screens are not simply decorative features. They serve a purpose every day by providing privacy and creating a more relaxing outdoor environment while enhancing the overall appearance of the backyard.

The Perfect Balance of Openness and Privacy

One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was creating the perfect balance between openness and seclusion. The black steel fencing continues to provide unobstructed views and airflow throughout the property, while the custom cedar screens create private spaces exactly where the homeowner wants them most. The combination of black steel and natural cedar creates a striking contrast that blends modern elegance with warm natural materials.
